    Class Description
    This 16 hour training class is designed to help users of Mechanical Desktop® in their efforts to migrate to Autodesk Inventor® This course provides the best practices for moving from Mechanical Desktop® to Autodesk Inventor 9. The focus is on how to leverage Mechanical Desktop® expertise so that users can quickly map expertise to Autodesk Inventor capabilities.

    Prerequisites:
    Experience in using Mechanical Desktop. Inventor Level I recommended.

  • Describe and compare the basic design methodologies and tools in Autodesk Inventor and Mechanical Desktop
  • Build Parts in Autodesk Inventor
  • Combine parts into Assemblies in Autodesk Inventor
  • Document parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor, Mechanical DesktopDX and AutoCAD Mechanical DX
  • Limitations of Mechanical Desktop and Inventor

    Leverage existing Mechanical Desktop® files, by:
  • Migrating Mechanical Desktop® parts and assemblies directly in Autodesk Inventor
  • Linking Mechanical Desktop® parts into Autodesk Inventor assemblies
  • Migrating Mechanical Desktop® drawings into Autodesk Inventor via DWG import

  • Leverage existing Inventor® files, by:
  • Linking Autodesk Inventor parts into Mechanical Desktop DX®
  • Linking Autodesk Inventor parts into AutoCAD Mechanical DX®
  • Produce 2D dimensioned views using Mechanical Desktop and AutoCAD Mechanical DX®
  • Share digital design data using the Autodesk design and collaboration tools.
