Length of Course
Online or in-classroom time: 32 hours total, including 60 days of post-class mentoring
(via phone, webconferencing and e-mail)
Each Class is limited to a maximum of 10 Students. This class will be held on consecutive Tuesdays.

Class Description
This class, taught by Dennis Jeffrey, Autodesk Inventor Certified Expert, covers part and assembly modeling in Autodesk Inventor 2011/2012.
Basic understanding of drawings and presentations is included in the class.

Class includes:

  • Attendance in Tekni Classroom or live Via Adobe Connect Virtual classroom
  • One Year student free retake guarantee. Not applicable to customized classes.

Prerequisites/Student Participation:

  • Familiarity with drafting principles is recommended.
  • Working knowledge of Windows user interface, commands and file structure is highly recommended.
  • Student interaction during class is expected.
  • Completion of assignments is required for certificate.

Hardware/Software Requirements for Internet based students:

  • Properly configured CAD System with Windows 2000, XP, or Vista (with compatible Autodesk software)
  • Sound card and speakers or optional headset for bidirectional voice communication. No telephone call-in required.
  • Hi-Speed Internet Access (DSL, Cable, FIOS or other Broadband Access is recommended).
  • 1280x1024 Full color resolution or higher, recommended. Preferences: 17" or larger monitor.
  • Optionally, dual monitors will provide the best experience, your Inventor session on one monitor, the course on a second monitor.
    Most modern computer systems and laptops support dual monitors. Our technical support can assist you in advance setup.
  • Full Installation of Inventor 2011/2010 Suite, properly configured. Pro and personal learning versions acceptable as well.
  • Version compatible Mechanical Desktop or AutoCAD Mechanical also recommended, but not required.
  • Microsoft Office or Microsoft Excel is required for full functionality.

This is a part of a series of skill builder sessions for users of Autodesk Inventor 2011/2012. Class will be taught by Dennis Jeffrey, Autodesk Inventor Certified Expert.
This skill builder provides excellent information, and leads into a question-and-answer session regarding the topic.

This 2 hour workshop is presented live in the Tekni Learning Center in Fort Wayne. This class will also be simulcast via Adobe Connect Pro
Laptops are welcome in the classroom.

Lunch and door prizes will be provided to attendees at the Learning Center.  Registration is required for Learning Center.

Topic: Introduction to Surface Modeling

Description:  This part of the skill builder series will cover surface modeling techniques available in in Autodesk Inventor2011/2012.

  • Hi-Speed Internet Access (DSL, Cable, FIOS on other Broadband Access is recommended).
  • 1280x1024 Full color resolution or higher, recommended, 1024x768 minimum. Preferences: 17" or larger monitor.
  • Optionally, dual monitors will provide the best experience, your Inventor session on one monitor, the Live Web course on a second monitor.
  • If you have a large audience, you may utilize a conference room with projection. Speakers will be required for sound.

    Inventor Advanced Surfacing
    Training

    This class, taught by Dennis Jeffrey, Autodesk Inventor Certified Expert, is designed to be an advanced class on surfacing using Autodesk Inventor 2011 or 2012. By the end of this course students will be modeling and repairing complex surfaces and have a firm grasp of Inventor surface commands and techniques.

    This course assumes students have intermediate to expert level experience in Autodesk Inventor. Each eight hour class session will be divided somewhat equally between formal instruction and supervised studio time where students practice the covered material. Each section will require students to spend a minimum of three hours inside class to complete an assignment from the previously covered material. Additional self-assignments are welcome from students.

    Topics include:

    • Standard Modeling with surface options
    • Surface Specific commands
    • Working with translated files (Repair, Conversions to Solids)
    • Parametric Surface Modeling

    Ample time is available for question and answers every session. Class includes:

    • Instruction by Certified, Industry Specific trainers.
    • Six month per student free retake guarantee. Not applicable to customized classes.
    • One on One instructor/ student mentoring during class duration, and for 90 days after completion.
    • Certificate for successful completion of classes and exercises.
